Hiring Summer Education Interns

Summer Education Internship

(2) Positions - 12 hrs a week for 10 weeks

June 9 - August 15 (with some flexibility)

Expectations to fulfill 120 hour internship

●  x9 - CREATE workshops every Thursday from 3-4:30 pm (26 hrs)

●  x6 - Alternating Thursday shift from 4:30-7:30 pm at Bay Park Farmer’s Market (22 hrs)

●  x5 - Alternating Saturday Morning or Afternoon Shifts at Taylor Park Farmer’s Market, choose 8:30-11:30 am or 11:30-2:30 pm

●  x10 - At least 1 docent shift a week (40 hrs)

●  Lead Group Tours, various ages, Wednesdays - Saturday (6 hrs)

●  Support 3 elementary age special events, 2 middle grade events or 2 teen events (8 hrs)

Postion Outline

●  Assist with and lead museum education programming

●  Opportunity to try new ideas and approaches in pedagogy and arts education

●  Cultivate content-making and documentation skills to contribute to social media

●  Engage with museum visitors and area youth

●  Guide and teach all ages about our exhibits and community stories

●  Lead scheduled guided tours with a variety of groups

●  Lead youth from a variety of age groups in engaging, hands-on activities

●  Assist or lead youth crafts and art activities, take lead with CREATE program

●  Contribute to a positive, safe, and tidy work environment

●  Get to know the community through tabling shifts at local Farmer’s Markets

●  Contribute to the improvement of our exhibits, activities, and offerings
