Research Library

The Don Miner & Wilma Cowie Research Library is open by appointment only. We are happy to provide assistance with any research needs.

Our archives and library include cemetery records, business directories, and files containing historic images, documents, and memorabilia from the people and places that have defined the history and heritage of the greater St. Albans community, as well as Vermont and northern New England.

To submit a research inquiry or schedule an appointment to use the library, please email museum@stamuseum.org or call (802) 527-7933. Please note that the Research Library is entirely staffed by volunteers, and we may not be able to fulfill all requests.

We cannot perform the following:

• Land records search (land records for St. Albans City and St. Albans Town are stored at City Hall and Town Hall respectively [links to external sites])

• Genealogical research (for genealogy requests, please contact the Vermont Genealogy Library [link to external site])

Research Services Rates

Research Fee: $10/hour (Minimum $10 per inquiry. The library is free to use by appointment if you prefer to conduct your own research.)

Black & White Copies: $0.10/page

Color Copies: $0.20/page

An invoice will be sent upon completion of research. All materials are for personal and academic/research purposes only. For commercial use of materials, click here to view a fee schedule (PDF). Copies may not be posted or published anywhere, including online, without express written permission from the Museum. If copies need to be shipped, additional fees may apply.
