Location & Hours

We are located in the historic Church Street Academy building at 9 Church St., St. Albans, VT, 05478.

We are currently closed. SAM is open seasonally from May through October on Wednesday and Thursday 12 pM–4 PM, and Friday & Saturday 10 AM–4 PM.

2025 - We open on Wednesday 5/14 with the Grand Opening day set for Saturday 5/17. Please join us that Saturday and consider attending our launch party.

Parking

A parking lot is available behind the museum. Free street parking is available along Church St. and Main St. Additional paid parking is available in the Lake St. parking garage.

Accessibility

A zero-step entrance is available in the back of the building. A wheelchair is available by request for visitors. We welcome visitors with service animals.

Our elevator is currently out of service. Stairs are required to reach the second-floor exhibit areas. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Audio guides and exhibit content in languages other than English are not available at this time.

School & Group Tours

We offer guided tours for groups of all ages, including school groups, bus tours, social clubs, and adult and senior learners. Email us at museum@stamuseum.org or give us a call at (802) 527-7933 to schedule a group tour.

Museum Policies

For the safety of all, the following are prohibited inside the museum:

  • Weapons (including knives of any kind and firearms, even concealed)

  • Smoking and recreational drugs (including cannabis and e-cigarettes)

  • Alcohol (except during properly licensed, museum-approved events)

  • Flash photography

  • Pets (excluding service animals)
