Lucy Stone, a leading suffragist and abolitionist, toured VT in 1870, stopping in Saint Albans to promote equal rights and full justice for all. Lucy was called the "heart and soul" of the Women's Rights Movement, and influenced Susan B. Anthony to take up the cause of women's suffrage. Susan B. Anthony stopped at the Welden House here in Saint Albans. To learn more about these dedicated women and the Women's Rights Movement, visit the Saint Albans Museum.
