From the Archives #3: Maquam Steamboat

This photo and the accompanying caption were originally posted to our Facebook page (link to external site) on April 6, 2022.

Black and white photograph of a steamboat on a lake with passengers disembarking.

Wouldn't it be fun to time travel back to the days when you could take a steamboat back and forth from St. Albans to Burlington and other places on Lake Champlain?

The Maquam was built in 1881 and owned by the St. Johnsbury & Lake Champlain Railroad. It was retired in 1906.
