The Saint Albans Museum and Friends of Northern Lake Champlain have partnered to create a new educational workshop, focused around STEM topics and the cultural heritage of Lake Champlain.
Currently in development “Lake Lessons,” is place-based and ‘hands-on’ enrichment workshop designed for Grades 3 & 4. It will bring together Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics activities along with lessons about the maritime history and heritage of St. Albans Bay, once known as “Port Washington.” SAM & FNLC volunteers are consulting with two Vermont state agencies – Department of Natural Resources and Department of Agriculture – to identify curriculum resources as well as opportunities for input from area non-profit and educational organizations.
The pilot program is scheduled to launch in the Fall of 2018. For more information or to learn more about getting involved, please contact the Museum office.
