SAM is pleased to announced a new exhibit in progress, Voices & Votes: A Centennial Reflection on Women’s Suffrage in northwestern Vermont.
This new display at the Saint Albans Museum will highlight the people, places, and ideas that defined the women’s suffrage movement in northwestern Vermont. Drawing upon regional archives and utilizing the humanities disciplines of history, ethics, and literature – this project will provide an opportunity for visitors to discover new voices and perspectives around voting rights and our local political/social history. The main feature will be a series of interpretive exhibit panels, supplemented with audio-visual components and reproduction artifact/documents that are accessible to school/tour groups and guests of all ages. SAM will also host a guest speaker or panel as part of a free exhibit opening program/reception event.
Funding for this project was provided by the Vermont Humanities Council. To learn more or to get involved, please contact us.
