Better Together – SAM makes accessible 2020 membership appeal to community

Dear Friends,

As we navigate these historically challenging times, I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, it was necessary for the Saint Albans Museum to postpone/cancel multiple programs and fundraising events, as well as to delay our summer opening. This is especially difficult for sustaining our small nonprofit organization. Without that usual income, the future of our community museum is in serious jeopardy. Our annual membership is more important than ever before, and we need your help!

SAM is currently operating as a ‘museum without walls,’ finding new and innovative ways to share our content and collections online (learn more or join in our work online.) We are…

  • offering free resources and activities for students and families via our “History from Home” website
  • launching a new, free podcast – Northwest Passages – featuring stories about our common heritage from community members who lived them
  • collecting stories and images for our newest exhibits on the Central Vermont Railway, the Maple Festival, and the women’s suffrage movement in Vermont

We are committed to making our annual membership drive accessible for all. This year, you are invited to join or renew with a donation of any amount, and will receive all of your regular benefits: a newsletter subscription, special discounts, members-only programming, and complimentary admission.

Please make your secure 2020 dues contribution via our online gift shop ( or by mail (PO Box 722, St. Albans, VT 05478). For all the latest news and announcements, visit our website or follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

Like our community, SAM truly is better, together. Thank you again for your support!

Be well,

Alex Lehning, MA
Executive Director
