What will you discover with SAM…?
November 13, 2017
For many years, our annual membership renewal notice was mailed in December. As part of a plan to serve you better, and to help cover the costs of our expanded outreach, SAM’s membership drive will now take place in the spring. Our goal is to make it more simple and affordable for you to join or renew than ever before. More details will be announced in the new year.
While our schedule may be seasonal, our mission continues throughout the year – as does our critical need for financial support. We are reaching out to both Museum and community members to introduce our new end-of-year Annual Appeal…and to ask for your help. Your tax-deductible gift will allow SAM to continue to care for our collections, to perform vital maintenance and repairs to our historic building, to improve and update our exhibits, and to ensure high-quality educational programming and cultural activities for all ages and interests.
Thanks to support from our members and friends, we were able to orchestrate one of our most successful seasons yet. We’re proud that our revamped series of historical presentations, concerts, and family-friendly activities allowed many in the community to experience SAM for the first time this year, including these highlights:
– A record-level number of visitors for our traveling Alexander Hamilton exhibition and lecture
– New exhibits debuted featuring local service/social organizations and St. Albans in World War I
– Over 1,300 children and family members attended our Kid’s Night and Haunted Museum events
Our team will be busy during the winter and spring months developing our new exhibit, “Farming Franklin County,” which will be installed in a renovated display room. As you know, this unique aspect of our community heritage is critical to both our past identity and our economic future. You can help the Museum invest in the success of this project, as well as our many other efforts to preserve our local history.
Please consider this additional level of support, so that the SAM will be able to share the story of St. Albans now, and for generations to come. You can make a contribution to our Annual Appeal fund by mail.
